October 14th: Thursday:

D-O-M-E-S-T-I-C....V-I-O-L-E-N-C-E

Fall weather...the cool air approaches

and you can feel it hit your face

October

weather equals the month

of domestic violence

purple signifies the bruises which are left behind

and the invisible ones you don't see

like a gentle leaf which falls slowly by your feet

the slap and the fist

is strong.....and you wonder if you

will make it through the fall

you may and you may not...

the world out here is shallow

is there room...for one or two or three

and at times there is knot

when you knock on a tree

 the answer rings hallow

but you realize you are strong and need to be

for you are important....and should take care of thee

Summer Blooms

Art Exhibit at Local Museum

Impressionist Painting at local Museum SAMA

CF Ray Quilt in Progress Stay Tune

More Impressionist......

And Modern Day Impressionism

Went to the local SAMA museum to checkout their impressionist painting exhibit

I was really inspired by the colors, the gloss and the amount of paint and brushstrokes on canvas
Also, comparing one painter with another and how they interpreted almost the same landscape

Decided to walk around and saw people enjoying themselves....after covid
and the flowers in bloom

And I am working on the CF ray quilt
Can hardly wait to put the batting and begin hand quilting it
and moving on to the next project
I actually cut out some pieces to a small storage bag and working with plastic for the first
time...will take photos of that project in order to continue with my
journal
Reading and reading....reading RBG one of the biographies on her plus her
little penguin dissents book, which is a series

I started on a Alexander Hamilton biography as well
watched a dvd on Mrs. Lowry and Son
I may have been the last person to watch this film
I really enjoyed it...except for the abuse poor L.S. Lowry had to endure
Lowry really loved painting...his story inspires me
It is very hot..over a 100 degrees...I look out the window and remember
the snow that was there only four months ago
Things really change rapidly

Grace ......great read and great talent

Train....Graffiti...Art....before covid..Austin however has lots of graffiti that wasn't there
before covid?  Would that be considered Art or a Public outcry?

The new season has begun and the weather is very different

some places are receiving lots of rain and some are complaining

on NPR that they had their fireplaces going last week and now

it is in the 90's.....the weather is unpredictable......

The leaders of our country wonder why businesses can't find workers to fill

their shops.....but when covid happened so, many things changed

and so, many people passed away.....maybe they filled the shops?

I'm not sure why they wonder...they think everything should be the same

covid-19-the pandemic

wasn't just something or just anything.....

it really changed people's lives

I've been working on my CF ray quilt and also on a small

bag too keep my quilting supplies in

and reading......I graduated last month with my paralegal degree

and I'm happy I don't have to study......at least for now

one can learn something new everyday....or by attending school

I now have a Bachelor's degree in Art History with a minor in History

And two Associate of Applied Science degrees: one in fashion design and the

other in paralegal studies

And one year on my Master's degree in legal studies completed

Do I know Microsoft Suites (yes)

Do I know about Legal Research (yes)

Do I know how to use Westlaw (yes)

Do I know how to read and write (yes)

Can I get my Public Notary (yes)

Can I pass a background check (yes)

Just some really "smart" questions asked during some of my

Interviews?

March 5th: Land of Was

I was driving today and noticed this old building about to be demolished and it made me sad....because although I appreciate the new I really love the old. I thougt I would take a photo in order to remember what was there before it went away. I'm glad I did because then I could see they had demolished and old beautiful house, which was a home to someone not a converted business. Lots of feral cats use to live there. There is a photo of one of them still there minus the people who lived there. It reminded me of when I was getting my stuff out of storage and went to throw a box in the dumpster...I noticed lots of photos of a family, which had been thrown away. I had wondered what had happened to them. I noticed the business about to be demolished was called at one time...the land of was. And I thought, yes, everything seems to be turning into the land of was.....out with old in with the new...in a very careless way. Then one day the supposed new will be old....When I was about to leave I noticed this foreign monopoly card left behind the rubble. It was still a monopoly card with the words....Deed, Morgtage and money. Yes, life has become a monopoly game of life....people owing back rent, back mortgages because of covid....real estate prices pretty high...some dropping their small houses for larger ones...while others have no home with a view or about to get kicked out of their current apartment or home.....the homeless with simple tents and those getting mowed down as well. So, the monopoly card really hit home.....sort of like Lucy and her awful real estate..it's all about the real estate Charlie Brown......I decided to show some photo of flowers from before covid and my sampler I'm still working on and my Ray Quilt by CF carolyn friedlander. I decided not to edit any of these photos because I just didn't...and so, some are grainy not so great lighting etc.....just real. I'm happy but you know just worried about things like a normal..............all about the green charlie brown......some things aren't for sale though...and human life shouldn't be even if its attached to the new ugly.
